I didn't buy a 'Mother's Day' card this year, But last years said
'To Mom on Mother's Day :
They say the nut doesn't fall far from the tree...
... That just scares the hell out of me.'
-She laughed-
I wrote : I love you Mom! I went for laughter this year!
You are an inspiration, thank you so much for all you do and give
ALL the time, everyday! -*heart*, Natalie
If I look through her stuff more, I'm sure I will find almost every Mother's Day card I have ever given her. I have found a few here and there. But mostly I have not been going through her papers and keepsakes... I just put it in a box to look at later, assuming it won't be as hard.
Today though I just wanted to try and be positive, and thankful for the years I did have with my mom. I had my mom, 17 years longer then, she had with her mother. I never met my mom's mom... my grandma, but from the memories my mom shared, I love her, I hope I can do that with Hayden, he knew his grandma for 6 and a half years, I'm pretty sure he will never forget her. If I have more kids, I hope I can find the memories in my mind, to tell stories and bring her to life in our everyday, even though she wont be there. Her legacy - ME - can help to preserve her. In stories of her.
Like yesterday when we were at Valley Fair and watched the people 3-2-1-FLY on the Ripcord, remembering that I did that with my mom 3 or 4 times when I was young, and how brave my mom was, how fearless she was when it came to rides. Which helped to make me fearless. I love rides. Thanks mom for taking me to all the different amusement parks, mom. I can't even count all the Mother's Days we spent at Valley Fair :)
You will forever be missed My Mom.
I will love you forever,
I couldn't forget you if I wanted to,
I am incredibly thankful for the time I did have with you,
I don't have any regrets,
Thank you for always talking to me about everything even though it may have hurt.
Thank you for loving me no matter what kind of choices I was making,
Thank you for choosing to be My Mom, for investing everything you had into me,
Thank you for always trying to protect me, for suffocating me at times with it...
It expressed your deep love for me, I see that now, so clear, now that I am a Mom.
Hayden, The reason I am a Mom, I Love you so much, I learn so much about myself through watching you. I am excited to see the Man you will become, after you stop picking your nose and wiping your snot on your shirt, after you have mastered riding your bike and tieing your shoes.. Amazingly so I will miss these days of whining and learning addition and subtraction. Cause Hayden, you will only be little once, and that once is now. May you grow up to be a strong man, in your beliefs, your character, your gentleman-ness, your loving spirit and curiosity. I love you my little man in the making.
Happy Mother's Day
~Natalie
